OK,
So over the holidays I also received a box from my friends at Team Blue Groove! Aren't Canadians great !! ;) ;)
I had sent them a vintage Parma McLaren body I have been saving for many years so they could copy it and when they were going to send back my new copy ( the originals don't survive sometimes) I also ordered a couple of other bodies for some projects. One was a new body for my Astute!
I have been wanting to change the ugly original body for a new one so I when right to work, trimmed it and washed it up, I used MCI masks for the windows, my first time with them and I must say they worked great, had to trim just a little bit but very easy and great results. I am into my last jar of Pactra Racing Red on this one, just an awesome color. I really don't know what I am going to do when I run out of the Pactra paint it is all I have ever used for PC bodies, guess I will switch to Tamiya but I will miss the airbrush ability of the Pactra.
I haven't started cutting decals for yet but could not resist sharing a picture in just the red!

Looks so good I almost don't want to decal it :) well almost

I will add more pics when it is done. :)

And the bonus question....... what is going on in this picture??

Egress shocks??? Dyna storm???

DT-02 wheels with mini pin rears & Hicap racing shocks :) . Funny I got A set of those wheels for when I run my Astute :) Black keeps the look but gives it A Super Astute feel :)
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Unfortunately, I have not decided if I will build the 911 GT2 as a basis for the Taisan body.
I might have to look for a 58172 TA02SW chassis for the Taisan bodyset. I don't like mixing vintage and reissue parts...

Well some good guesses on the buggy guys, :)

So far Andyaus is the closest....the wheels and tires are actually a set for the Holiday buggy that were fairly cheap, I ran the rims through my ( finally up and running ) refurbished sandblast cabinet just to rough them up a bit then sprayed with Krylon Fusion satin black, I tried looking for a set of real Astute wheels but being the 2wd fronts only came on one car ever......they are way to rare and expen$ive . I intend on racing this machine on my friends back yard track this summer so having some more disposable wheels and tires might be good too. :y:

Oh ya, right on the shocks too they are some nice old school hi cap racing ones, a bit faded but very nice, they are also sporting the cool square profile springs, I don't think it made any difference but they look good ;)
From somewhere out in the wilds of central Ontario.
.......you build what you like, I will build what I like........it's all cool......
