Difficult to see where you could loose rotating mass at the back (if torque reaction is even the problem) or stiffen the suspension up to stop the weight transfer/pitching forward under deceleration. Maybe less drag brake, or reduce the front end grip (harder tyres, and/or much narrower), because understeering and oversteering at the same time is kind of balanced :D

Good luck with it :L I used a similar motor/esc in a TA03F with 6N NiMH and the punch dialled right down & that was pretty much uncontrollable above 60% throttle. I think part of the reason I've been putting off finishing my Drag Tractor so long is that's going to get the same 5.5T motor (this time with 2S Lipo & much taller gearing) & I know I'm only ever going to get the one run out of the thing

I will reduse the drag brake from 20% to 10% and let the abs come on earlier, if I finally can start using my brakes that is.

Have most likely found the culprint to the issue I have.
The left front tire rotated less free than the right one, about 1/3 of the length /rpms than the other one.
About 10 years ago I had a Rustler that had the same problem. No matter what I did it spun out every time. No change in setup or surface changed anything.
In the end I found one of the front bearings to roll less free than the other. Changed bearings and the problem was gone.

So today the Toomod bearing hex conversion arrived and I swapped the old bearinggs out for the conversion and now the problem is gone.
Wheels turns same amount now.

In my Toomod package I ordered I also got the rear axle holders.
Two left ones don`t help me much. Thankfully ebay seller will send new ones.

My aluminium suspension arms also came.

Installed the new arms that seems to be decent quality.
Due the camber angles was a tad different than the orginal arms, ment I could lower it more and still have less camber I had before.
Actually had to lift the front body post.

How it looks under now..

The "tube" portion of the arms that sticks into the holes in the chassis had less diameter than the stock plastic arms.
To remove the sloppy fitment I added a few turns of tape in the end. Work fine as this has no suspension movement.

The T bar between suspension arms was a no go as the holes from back to forth was about 2mm longer than stock which ment it did not fit.

So now the chassis has a bit rake on it which should help with air flow

Body will not go any lower than this. There is about 2mm clearance between front wheel and body. If I press on the body the tires do touch, which I hope the downforce is not enough to do.
I can add a few washeres to finetune the body post hight if I need to.
Body also has a tiny rake to it to help with downforce.

Frontspoiler is about 5mm above ground and it will touch the ground if I press hard enough. I hope it just clears.

To help prevent what happend on last test run I have added a sort of a ducktail on the orginal spoiler.
I happend to have a surplus uncut Impreza spoiler that I cut to fit.

I should now be more ready for a new test in coming days.
Just hope the horrible wind goes away..

If you watched my 54.6mph / 87.9kph run yesterday, you would have seen it not ending that well beside the speed.
What you missed when I drove past the camera was that as soon I let off the throttle the car became airborne, which resulted the body and chassis to seperate.

Today it was time to investigate the damage.
All bodypost ripped off the Grasshopper body mount bosses clean off the chassis.
My body clips worked like charm tho lol

Rear wing also ripped apart

So today I swapped the chassis tub for a rere one so I could mount the body again.
It`s perfectly fine for a Hornet as there was no other damage than the ripped bosses on the chassis.
You will also spot I have now installed rear shocks as several on the Poor Boys RC fb group mentioned that due no shocks in the rear it may be the cause of the rearend lifting off as frontend gets heavier and the rear end light.

The shocks was robbed from my Escort Mk2 project.
All I did was swap out the plastic rod end with metal rod end and loctited it and fitted 4mm ball end to the top part.
At chassis end, 48mm threaded pipe, one washer on eash side. 25mm setscrew, spacer and threaded on the 4mm ball end onto the setscrew.

Since there is suspension movement now there is no space for motor heatsink anymore, but I still wanted to fit the motor fan.
Took leaf spring shackles and bent it and screwed it to the resistor crossmember. It just clears the gearbox at full compression.

Body back on at ride hight.

And at full compression.
I also fitted 3mm thick spacer onto the shock shaft to shorten the stroke as you don`t want a lot of travel when doing speedruns.
The rear 19mm wide 12mm hexes was swapped out with the Toomod ones so the rear tire would clear the body.

I really suspect the big orginal wing being the cause the of the car doing liftoff when I go off the throttle at max speed as second to last time I added the ducktail to the orginal wing and the rear end stayed put. But when I did the testrun yesterday I had taken off the ducktail as it robbed speed as it increased the downforce quite a bit.
So since the spoiler is now damaged I removed it apart from the lower level at the tailgate.
Then I added the ducktail again (Impreza wing cut differently).
Now that the big wing is gone it looks pretty sleek and I have higher hope this will work now.

I`m still on 2s and have one step left on the timing.
Now there is next to no wing i bet there is less drag now which should get me past 62mph /100kph, at least I hope.
If the car is stable next step will be 3s. For that I need a new esc.

That's crazy Richard.  A friend of mine 25 years ago  lost control of his rc ( no lipo nor brushless motor) because he lost the rear wing.

Thank you Flo!

So glad it`s working now!
The cut down Lunchbox bumper was perfect spoiler support!

Had two more runs this evening and they was only 66.2mph (106.5kph) and 65.9mph (106kph) so clearly the added 12% turbo timing did not work.
Next time I will remove the rear wing and reduce the turbo timing to half to see if it helps.

There is forecasted rain the next 3 days and early Thursdag evening is dead last deadline for submitting a new PB.
Weather might work against me on this one.

Sucks! Here the weather is sh........ng since last week.  Happy last holiday week for me😪
but 108kmh for a basic 80's chassis is already a record. You have a buggy based dragster with a capri body🤗   🏆🏆🏆🏆

In the open class there is a lunatic that has done 111mph!!! That`s 178.6kph!!!!!
He is still using the tub as base but with much longer section added in the rear and different front suspension. He is still using Hornet based transmission in aluminium with homemade motor mount.
And it looks like there is still more in it!! Just insane!
