Nice little chassis and well done Richard. Brings back nice memories....

Time to tackle the shocks...
First I pulled them apart. Not a single drop in any of them!
Then I started to polish the shafts.
Left untouched. Most looked like this. Polished to the right.


Then the shock bodies.
Most of them had scratches and one needed wet sanding with 800 paper before polishing..


Untouched to the left, finished one to the right. These are a pain to install the springs on. This time I covered my needle nose plier with shrink tube to avoid scratches.


Installed on the chassis.








Finally! After 3 decades, body now sits on a repaired chassis complete with rebuilt shocks!
Suspension is very plush, albeith very little suspension travel.
But I remember very well this chassis works brilliant on asphalt, and it was rapid.
It has about same speed as the Celica Gr.B with the high gearing and does burnouts!




Yesterday I got added to a few Kyosho FB pages and this morning I got a PM with a bumper drawing and some measurements.
With this I can make a bumper if I want to.




Very happy it`s nearing completion after all these years..
For electronics I think I want a vintage esc and 2.4 radio as the crash back in early 90s either came from stuck MSC or lost signal. Never lost signal on any other builds so I guess the MSC got stuck. Never been fan of Kyosho MSC anyway. Tamiya ones is smoother.

Great build Rich, really enjoyed seeing all your hard work that’s gone into this build.
 

I never been able to dismantle the shocks. And I  don't want to destroy them. So, they only have been cleaned outside.... I love your resto and you still have your original body. It's one of your baby. I love this resto bro.
