Oh sucks! Thank you  the paint remover... I had too much issues with these products. Before gluing wait several days or weeks and you could solder the parts by inside.

Yep I would glue this now before moving on.
Revell contacta is a great glue if this is of styrene type plastic like the plastic kits.
Plastruct Plastic Weld is another one, but have not seen them for sale here.
But my local hobby dealer do offer DeLuxe Plastic Magic that glues nearly all plastic types.
Might be an idea the reinforce the panels with a bit of styrene. 0.5mm sheets are great for this as they don't add much weight.

Cheers Rich, totally good points. The instructions even suggest using some plastic sheet to reinforce areas. I’m not too worried about added weight, I want this to be a working car, but I think it’s mainly destined for the shelf.

Hi Al, just a thought, wondering about reassembling the body on to the chassis as an alignment jig before applying any glue. I would be concerned about it all lining back up by just gluing freehand??

Looking good so far..

Too late Jim !!!
In fairness the chassis is pretty bent out of shape, but I did consider some sort of jig.

Then again I could just go for it !!!!

Left hand door reattached.

Starting to reattach the front clam. This isn’t easy, so I’m going for a very slow approach.

I all seriousness to Jim’s post, if I get to the end of the build and the body attachment brackets don’t line up with the chassis the worst case scenario is to remake the metal brackets which attach to the body shell.
The chassis is in need of some straightening out so getting everything to line up could be an issue. We will only find out at the end ???

I remember now that you mentioned that the chassis had a serious bend in it. Looks like you've got it on the run anyway. and I agree with your bracketry theory, def doesn't matter how you get it on there, just so it looks proper. Great start and I like the slow and steady cadence! LOL

I ordered a set of repro decals from MCI and they arrived today.
Nice sharp quality, I’m guessing thicker than  the originals would have been, but I’m not complaining when I’m able to source the decal sheets for a model car approaching 50 years of age.

Work on the body has stopped due to a number of work projects which have now taken over my desk.
Hoping to clear those soon so I can get back to it.
Weather is on its way down in terms of temperature, but if I can get the body stuck back together then I can focus on the chassis over winter.
