Putting things in a safe place and never to be found again is annoying to say the least.
Been there, done that.

Looking great!

Found the wiper & glued it in before it had a chance to escape again

Getting the LEDs in to each corner was a horrible job, I can only assume it was so much easier when I first made up the loom as I had access through the windscreen opening too.

Once the four corners wre done, installing the dash, cickpit & drivers + the bench, interior lights and roof beacons was pretty straightforward. Some of the outside details (panel lines etc) got a wash with XF-9 Hull Red.

I did consider big call sign letters/numbers on the roof (maybe WC-99? - Wheelie yellow Copy), but discounted it at this is a very 70s shape, and helicopters for law enforcement/rescue was more of a late 80s and onwards thing in the UK.

It's been sunny here this afternoon, but the light had dropped precipitously (and it was getting cold & damp) before I got some "done" photos, I'll try again another day but hope to get some illuminated shots later.

As for driving is, between its top-heaviness and fragility, and my lack of competence with steer wheel TXs, I know I'm going to crash it (and break bits off) very quickly. Not saying it's not going to happen, just that I want an audience to make it worthwhile :D

Amazing work.  Hard to call this a replica since it is of vastly higher quality that the original.  The only way to make it a more fitting tribute is to drive it like Wheelie Yellow, after which it will quickly start to look more like the original.

IDK if Wheelie Yellow was channelling this for his van styling, but I think I must have been: Forward Control "Moon Buggy" built on a Land Rover Chassis by Carmichael for a Welsh Fire Rescue service (from "Land Rover Forward Control" by James Taylor, 2025 Amberley Publishing ISBN 978 7 3981 2327 4)
