Your threads, history, wording, info, pictures, comparisons, are masterful. I salute you sir.

Hey, thanks!  Some of these build threads are so long I wonder if anyone actually reads them.  Glad to hear they are appreciated.  I guess I better keep building!

Ofcourse! Every word. The detail you go into should be added in official Tamiya manuals.

Definitely post more. I’ll gradually get through all of my sub par TRF posts.😂

This brings back memories...
I bought/built a 501X World Edition in 2007/8.
It's an impressive Tamiya model, particularly with the 6.5 Novak Brushless i put in it.

Is that a GTB ?
I still have one of these in a Losi XXX-4. And then the more basic (blinky) Havoc Pro in a drift car. And a couple 10.5 Pro BL  and 13.5 SS Stock BL.

Brushless was really a novelty back then.  I'm not pushing mine super hard with a 10.5T Hobbywing and stock gearing, but it is plenty fast to be fun.  Speaking of which, I did finally solve the problem of the motor shaft being too short to reach the spur by finding a long Kyosho pinion from the Fantom EP.

Lars, is it me or I recon this brushless combo? I have it or a similar one in my dt03?

Blackbird, I recon some similar parts of the db01r I owned several years ago and sold with simikar spare pargs of your we or trf. I still have a carbon front shocks tower if you want it.

If I remember right, the DB01 Durga is essentially a plastic version of the TRF 501x and came out about a year later.  The subsequent upgraded versions (DB01R, DB01RR, DB01RRR) got closer and closer to TRF spec level.  I don't plan to drive my 501X WE hard enough to ever need to replace the shock tower (I hope).
