Too happy to have owned a trf derived. But never had the crush for it. The durga body is really ugly and too modern for me.

Yes, it's the one you now have. Signature now gets correct formatting if you edit it in your Profile. Use normal BBcode if you want.

Blakbird you absolutely have to do a tutorial on how you get your pictures to come out like that…. Show us your studio, camera equipment, lighting etc. That’s top RC magazine quality stuff right there.

It's all about the editing. I'm not using any special lighting, just the overhead LED panels in my garage. The white background is a bed sheet hanging over a table. I'm using a 20+ year old Nikon DSLR camera. I use a very small aperture (F/22) for a large depth of field, a very long shutter (1/2 second) to gather a lot of light, and a tripod to hold it steady. The picture that comes off the camera is quite ugly, but the focus and detail are good. I then bring it into Photoshop to adjust the white point which makes a huge difference. Finally, I manually erase any remaining visible background and apply a sharpening filter. All of this is done on an iMac from 2011. No point in spending money on new equipment when I can save it for more Tamiya. I could put together a quick tutorial if there is interest. The photos I take during the build are just an old iPad camera on my build table. Edit: I used to have a nice 3 point photography studio lighting setup to take photos for my Technic web page, but sadly it burned up in the fire. I had intended to replace it to use for RC, but this new method works so well I don't see the need. |

Attention to detail is key. And it shows.
I wondered how you achieved the white void background effect, removing excess background makes a lot of sense. I may go out this weekend and find a nice new white sheet. You even see all the shadow detail around the model. So good! I'm sure I would not be the only one interested in a tutorial. Bluegoodness
