Hi Guys,

stingray-63 thank you so much for your advice. I actually opened up the bl motor. Geez it was dirty. Gave it a huge clean. Spinning a lot smoother now. I've also updated the pinion to a 13T as suggested by Jonny Retro. I'll give this setup a test run and we'll see how we go. I'll keep u guys posted on what happens. I'm wrapped that the bl motor is still alive :)

Also thank you jonny for the info on the fireproof bags. also the lesson on the retro frog was awesome. I remember when i was a kid, about 9 ish, a "cooler" older friend, (cooler as in he was in high school lol) had finished building the frog. He hadn't painted the body yet and as he was testing it out on the road when a car ran over it. I remember seeing it. It was a mess. This would've have about 85 or 86, when I was into he-man and voltron haha.

Anyway I may stay clear of lipos. They just sound like a bad idea for plastic transmission. I reckon I'll build my own car soonish. Then I'll unleash the lipo's :) :)

OK so here's the update. AFter cleaning the brushless 9T motor and then applying the 13T pinion the test was a success. THe engine remained quite cool and the supershot ran a lot smoother also. A big thank you to all of u for your help.

I do have an additional question. Both the supershot and fox have a 4700mAh, 7.2 V NiMh batteries running. For some reason the supershot always seems to have far less play time then the fox. Both use the same esc's and motor's. Can anyone think of a reason why this happens? I've swapped the batteries around and still the same outcome.

Thank again for ur help :)

Lol.. I suspected that. I just had to double check. So a bigger battery would solve this?

If you want a better speed, you need higher voltage. If you want a lnger run, you need more capacity. ;)

Thanks Stingray-63.

That helps a lot.

I grabbed these nimh on ebay. They were super cheap. Anyone have any experience with these? I'm concerned at how cheap they were.

Oh bog no - they just scream cheap rubbish -"Super Power"? What kind of a horse puckey made up brand name is that? Look at how thin the wires are.

IDK what consumer rights you have to send those back, in the UK there are "Distance Selling Regulations" & the right to send stuff back (at your own cost) unused within 14 days for a refund, ebay.co.uk operates on similar lines, I don't know about elsewhere but I'd look in to it.

In the UK i'd suggest Vapextech for NiMH packs, I don't know (again) what supply is like elsewhere in the world.
