Thank you everyone.

WOW some excellent advice and incredible photos.

Thank you very much.

I haven't touched the Bruiser since painting it. I want the paint to set completely before i do anything else.

The photo here was the result of me painting a Hard Body Ford Bronco body for my Axial SCX 10.

Tamiya Mica Blue metalic and white. Poor job really. It's dull with no CC on it.

I know this is a Tamiya forum but other models are in my collection. Hope no one minds..

What i mean to say is that i am not experienced with using CC.

Kind of scared in a way using it..!

But as i said i'd like to do the Bruiser right...If i can..!

Thanks again fellas.

Personally, I put the clear over the top of the stickers.  This accomplishes two things:
  1. It makes the stickers take on the same finish as the rest of the truck so they look more like paint.
  2. It seals the edges and helps keep the stickers from peeling if the model gets wet or dirty.

That's awesome..What are those wheels...?  and did you use stickers for the TOYOTA on the back instead of painting it by hand?

Alloy side steps and bumpers ...Re-Re Body by the looks of it...This is nice but it's not an Original Bruiser.

I don't intend on using stickers for the TOYOTA on the rear tail gate.

I will mask these off and hand paint them.

But they ARE included in the Re-Re set of decals and they are the right size..

But.. I'm not going to do that.!

The wheels are from RC4WD.  You can still get them .  I did use stickers for the letters.  It looks much better than I could ever hope to achieve by hand.

Nope, it's a re-re.

Thank you. It's one of those Chinese hard bodies. They are actually very well made and nicely detailed.  Not easy to put together though because the windows need to be glued in and they move about so you have to get it right first time.

I painted it last year and it all seemed ok, paint went on nice and smooth..... but when it dried it became dull. !

I put some Traxxas wheels and tyres on it which suit this body.

The original Axial shocks were very weak and were not up to the job at all so i got some of these, chinese again but they are very good and way better than the originals. Oil filled and made of alloy they are adjustable and give the model a nice 'Wobble' when going over bumps. Took me ages to get the right shocks for this model. A lot of trial and error.

I think these are still available on eBay. Picture with the original body and wheels. I also got some GRC inner wheel guards for it.

This was my first proper crawler and i love it to bits.. it has some very nice Hobbywing brushless stuff on it. This might seem strange but out of all my models this one will stay with me until i die.!

Vintage stuff is all very nice but this one...just got me for some reason.! Thanks guys

Forgot to add. The door mirrors on the Bronco body are verr weak and will snap off at the slightest touch.I drilled mine and used very small screws instead, so now they 'Swivel' instead of being fixed.
