If you want a crawler, look after a CR01 kit. The built is amazing. Almost like the aeromax. Maybe not the best for climbing but with the bronco body, it is tooo nice.

I may be eating my words here on my paint as johnny retros sage advice is ringing true. I have always painted 118 and smaller scales with car paint with no issue but this larger body is cracking at the bumper when hit. I believe I will invest In some tamiya paint for the alfa build. I don't get it . Is lexan that problematic . It seems troublesome indeed at this size. I'm confused because the cars I used to paint were 70% plastic ....mind you i didn't bash them into walls at speed either and generally a bumper will crack if hit. Ahhh oh well I'll just have to add some "rust and bondo " effects of it keeps going and I'm thinking I'll order me a killer body lancia if it gets real bad. I still don't get why my other shells are fine but on the larger one it just seems like it needed a primer which obviously won't work out well.
Keep the rubber on the road! PM me with any Alfa Romeo bodies!!!

I have the sme problem with several Renault sprays, like the white or brilliant black. On my M3, the paint is stripping in sparkles alone. I just need to press the body to strip the paint....
flat black has a better reaction. |

I'm wondering if I scored the entire thing except windows with very fine fine finishing sandpaper like at a polish level then simple Green then alcohol if it would act as the primer. The paint is on its just I think the flex is greater on these shells as my losi shell that painted like this 4 years ago is much thicker and less bendy... time to order a few cheap shells and experiment me thinks.

You maybe could try a sandblasting with used fine sand. and protect the windows with thick and large electric tape.

Shame, I thought you might have been on to something
I'm wondering if your previous experience was on vacformed PETG bodies - looks similar but is a lot less robust; Another possibility is that different brands of polycarbonate probably have slightly different formulations/properties ... |

I'm thinking for sure this stuff is different as my losi body and my truck are fine and have been through badword. I can tell the tamiya stuff is much thinner and scratches and bends alot more than the other shells. I think it may need a bit more chemical prep. Like said I'm gonna experiment. The losi shells also seem "clearer " like less hazy than the tamiya shell. This guy here is 4 years old... Keep the rubber on the road! PM me with any Alfa Romeo bodies!!!

no just a sealer on the black to make it non transparent...We are working backwards on shells so the primer would go on before the paint but you wouldn't be able to paint it then lol... i wonder if brakefluid would do it....
