I would like to cut down on shipping, are there any US sites I should visit for upgrades?

That's a 380 size motor. You need to look for 540 sized. For ESC's just look at the specs and see how many turns it can handle.

This is better, yes? It says 60 turns, so I have to get an ESC below 60, right?

The higher the turns, the slower the motor, the standard silver can for instance is 27T, the Tamiya 'black can' sport tuned is 25T I think.

If you want more speed, maybe go for 25 or 23T or maybe just a better 27T motor. A 60T motor is for a rock crawler type vehicle, it will get to around 3.5kRpm the standard motor does around 15k rpm.
I use a 60t to train my kids to drive remote controlled cars because they are very slow but also very powerful.
I also use 19T motors in my faster vehicles, some with modified gearing.

The esc you choose must be able to handle the correct number of turns or lower.
So for a 27t motor the esc must be 27t or 19t or 12t etc... Not 35t.

My personal preference is these esc's --> www.ebay.co.uk/...3cdb051b24

This explains tons, thank you. I will look for a diff. 27 or a 23T then.

Is this considered an upgrade from the stock motor? I really dont wanna drop 40-50 bucks on a motor upgrade from the get go.
