Many many great tips and hints JR!
Really appreciate it! No clue what my smallest brush is, I've bought a set I will try next. Yeah I probably have too much paint on, but less leaves a lot of streaks. Possibly my brushes could be softer? I will try with by thinning the colors by water. The blue is just two colors of Vellejo mixed to my liking. My hands is not steady enough sadly to leave a thin line. I'm thinking masking tape is needed for me for that. Shaking hands and magnifying glass makes it hard to hit the target correct as I'm both nearsightet and long vision (about 7 or 8 in difference between eyes) And I guess it's here I did wrong as I used flat clear as it's own coat. Mixing it is! And the best hint for me is not using Tamiya paint over Vallejo. And that is what I did! Vallejo blue paint with Tamiya X Red something! So if I continuse with the current colors, do the belts first and then main color? Haha, sausage fest lol! Green does not fit very good with the matt black rat rod sadly. And I won't put on smoked windows. So I guess I have to train on my painting skills... |

I completed the steering linkage today.
Made a new tie rod. Old one was 1mm piano wire that was a pain to fine tune. This time I made it out of 1mm welding wire, much better. Glued a L bracket so it could poke through the steering arm. Test of steering www.youtube.com...6UGiYU5Szo www.youtube.com...sx1lAhAfPo At least I did it better than the folks in US that convert these as seen in RC Sparks channel and those charge a arm'n leg for a less than optimal job. (1cm clearance between tire and fenders and tires sticks outside finders up front.

Today was one step forward and 3 step backwards kinda day...
I soldered wires to the shortned terminals on the receiver Would like smaller and softer wires, but these is the smallest and softest I have currently. I also soldered on pottmeter to the esc (servo circuit bord, with a trim pot from a old transmitter board. No pictures of this... And this is the backward part. I glued on support plates for the rear axle, but chassis broke under handling due there was not a lot of meat left of the old chassis bit. So I reglued the floor for the sleeper and made a new section of chassis and glued that to the floor. Now there is 10x12mm portion that is glued to the floor. Should be more sturdy now. Need to glue tires to the wheels as the pop off very often now. Should have this driving within a week hopefully

Much more happy with the result this time.
Clue is to use primer, I did not the first time... 2 coats of mixed XF blue colors mixed with some white and XF red for gloves and boots. Just one coat of red so far... It will have rubber black for the soles. And I have not a great selection of brushes. Smalles is 1. I need t pick up 00 and 000 on my next trip to LHS
