the esc wants to protect your battery and the msc doesn't care Are you getting a solid indicator light on the esc when at full throttle? If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

That means your not getting full throttle, also you may have it the wrong way around. Are you getting the brake function? The manual notes that Futaba and similar controllers should have their throttle switch set to rev and then setup from there. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

Im not sure how to check for brake function. And I don't know what you mean by having it the wrong way around. Do yo mean the leads to the motor? The motor is running in the correct direction. As for the fubata controllers being set to REV.. How do I go about this? DO I just hold the throttle stick down in the reverse posistion while powering up up the ESC? |

after pushing the stick up/forward on your controller and making the motor run, pull it all the way back/down. the Motor should stop and not go in to reverse. if you dont get brake then yes the motor leads could be around the wrong way and why you would need the rev function on your control. Which controller do you have? If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate

I push the stick up all the way, then pull it it all the way down into rev posisition and the car goes into reverse. It doesn't stop. I tried the same thing but didnt pull the stick all the way down. I just let it go back to neutral and it didn't brake. I tried switching the jumpers for the braking on the ESC, but that did nothing. I still don't think my motor leads are backwards becuase if they were the car would go into reverse when pushing the stick up. That doesn't happen. And IM still getting a blinking light at full throttle. |

If you reverse the channel on the transmitter (either via a dip switch on the transmitter or in the setup menu if your transmitter has that) as well as reverse the wires to the motor, the motor will still run the same way. Also did you check that the D/R "Dual Rate" adjustment on your transmitter isn't limiting the the throttle range? |

My transmitter is a pretty basic one. It doesn't have any of those features. Its a Techniplus Acoms AP-275MkIII |

I don't have a mkIII, but with many of the old transmitters you could open them and turn the whole throttle stick assembly 180 degrees to reverse the throttle. |

If you can afford it investing in a lipo battery & balance charger (Hobbyking is usually cheapest & many of us started there) is a really good move. It dramatically increases run time & unless you're a complete moron they're safe to use. Provided your ESC has the lipo cut out set correctly (which it should be in the default settings) you really can't go wrong. Make sure you read & follow all the precautions as a lipo charged and/or discharged incorrectly can cause it to explode literally like a bomb. If you have never seen a lipo explode check it out on YouTube as I didn't believe it until I saw it happen & houses have been lost this way. Most modern electronic rechargeable devices have them these days which illustrates how safe they can be when used correctly. I always keep a spare teu-105bk in case I get something with a speed controller that isn't lipo compatable & im wanting to run the vehicle.
My other car is a Tamiya - bumper sticker on my van
