Thank you very much Jim!
As I did know nothing really about this buggy it has been a lot of searching and cross references what fit and what people has done in the past. Google search machine seems to getting worse by the year.... As I want to build a 90s feel buggy, neon wires is a must. Only brand I can find that do such wires are Excelerate rc. Not many shops carry those wires, but Amain do.

I assume you're already aware, but I built one of these New in Box and wrote an article about it here on TB. Hopefully that can be of some use to you. This is a fantastic buggy and really quite unlike most of Tamiya's other offerings. |

Today I ordered the first parts for this project, wires!
Did not go for the eXcelerate ones as the neon yellow looks green to me, not yellow. Instead I ordered yellow and white wires from ebay. Brightest yellow I could find. I will try to keep this build white, yellow and black. |

Thanks. The Dyna Storm is one that I was not able to replace and I regret that I never really got around to driving it. This is going to be a seriously complex restoration project you are undertaking given how many of the parts are unique to this model. I'll be watching closely and getting my Dyna Storm fix vicariously through you! |

I just did a dicovery!
Found a STL file for the rear hinge pivots and it stated it needs to be drilled to 4.5mm for the orginal bushings. Something clicked in my head. Hang on! Isn't that the same size the Axial use on SCX10 and Wraith for the bushing on their C-hubs? Found my parts box with Axial parts, and sure enough the stock plastic bushings for the SCX10 fitted like a glove into the arms of the Dyna Storm! That means you can buy bushes intended for the orginal SCX10 and Wraith or from other brands as most crawlers use the same sice bushings for 3mm bolt which is the size of the hinge pins on DS! Vanquish do the bushings for orginal SCX10 and Wraith: vanquishproduct...k2QpUXXMmX As you can see RCMart list the SCX10 II bushings as 4.5mm, which means these will also fit: www.rcmart.com/...5gFBM9H1Hd Stock Axial steel bushes are AX30450 if you can get hold of them. And I actually found a Tamiya bush with 4.5mm diameter that is used on TA06 among others. 54490 The flange bit might be too thick... There is also a 4.6mm flange bushing, 51100 if the 4.5mm one fits too loose. Found more 4.5mm flange bushes 9808021 as used on BBX, or Yeah Racing 4.5mm brass flange bushes for BBX. TABB-008GD Another 4.5mm brass option from Yeah Racing is KYOP-014GD for Kyosho Optima/Javelin. This means I can still use the stock arms if I want to! Only need to source the C-hubs for Dyna Storm or Astute to make the suspension complete, minus the linkages and front uprights. Probably going for Xtra Speed ones for the latter. |

Today I found my SCX10 spares and robbed then new plastic bushings and secondhand metal bushings from a complete set of knuckles.
Turns out the plastic bushings is approx 4.4mm while the metal bushings are 4.3mm. Partnumber for plastic parts Sadly those gives slack at the arms. So 4.5mm bushings is deffo needed! As long as the manufactures state the correct actual size of their bushings, the ones I gave in last section should work. Same goes for the rear... Found a shop here in Norway that has enough of those Yeah Racing brass bushings to do the whole car. Ofcourse they are out of stock of another thing I need for this build...

For those who wonders, the bolt spacing on the pivot blocks Astute vs Dyna Storm is totally different.
Dyna Storm to the right Found a few bits in my parts bin today. First the correct hex tubes for the gearbox (using SRB ones right now). Don't know if the new gearbox needs these, but at least I have them. Also found wing buttons. All I need now is wing wire to hold the wing. My Gens Ace 2s lipo 4000mah battery fits snuggly in the battery box. Need a screwdrive to get it out. Since the battery box don't have a hole for wires up front, the wires will have to come out at the rear in front of the gearbox. My shorty CNHL 4900mah also fits, but need foam or stopper to not move. The battery door holders are Traxxas which are used on Bandit, Rustler etc and they fit perfectly! Most hobby shops carry those. #3727A and comes with black or grey battery strap. My current selection of brushed speed controllers are as follows: LRP Quantrum Competition 2. 5Turn limit with no reverse. Jamara Profi Red Car Contol. No idea of limit, no info online of this whatsoever. Might be a copy of something else. Made in Korea. Novak 510-M5. I know this has 15t limit, but can be used with 14 turn. Acoms AT-3. 100A normal and 400A peak. AI says 20-23t is the limit. Since neither of these esc has the color sheme I'm after I think I'm going to mod one of them. Most probably the Jamara as it has the biggest casing. Plan is to fit a Hobbywing 1060 esc inside it and change the wires. HW 1060 also has a 12t limit. For motors I have a Kyosho Mega 12x2 with bad sticker and also a worn Rush 15 turn. I belive HPI made those. Thinking of painting the can to get the colors I want. I have a bunch of vintage receivers. My plan is to fit a modern receiver inside, probably from Radiolink as they can be bought cheap and my Radiolink RC6GS is my go to transmitter. I also have Tactic TTX300 that uses SLT receivers, Not many SLT options these days. Radiolink receivers are cheap from Banggood. |

Unless I go 3d printing there is not much options for the bellcrank.
My first choice right now is the Factory Works bellcrank for the Ultima. Measured a few moments ago and the placement steering post is 39mm on Dyna Storm and 34mm on Ultima. At it seem the bellcrank ends seems to be placed in a V shape, I think it will work great on a Dyna Storm. I also missing the steering post on my DS, and the Factory Works comes with them. They also make for RC10 fitment that looks the same, but they using inch hardware, which I¨m not fan of. It also comes in several colors, including yellow as seen here. Ultima version with carbon drag link cost 40 dollars, 36 with black or natural. Other option can be Xtra Speed bellcrank for Avante/Egress. For this I only need those short steering post for Avante. There is also a few other brands out there with aluminium bellcrank for these as Pargu and G-Force. As I need a few bits from Factory Works I leans towards the Ultima item. Edit: I do have a incomplete Avante 2001 that has the steering rack present when I think of it. I will test tomorrow to see how it fit on the DS.
