The latest version of the Mini Cooper 94 Monte Carlo arrived today. It seemed good value when it was announced for sale, which I pre-ordered a while ago. This one will eventually get built because I have an earlier version NIB. I will say it’s a shame about the box for the new release. The artwork is reduced to a small sticker, it looks like the sticker sheet is not going to be the same as the original. A few stickers have been removed judging by the tiny bit of box art. Regardless I’m looking forward to this one, it’s a great looking model. Attachments: |

Hey Al, I was eyeing this one myself as it is a really nice throwback. Noticed the decal thing and agree.
It is a shame about the boxes, not sure what drives this as I have just ordered myself a new R91CP (Group C) car and the tipping point was the beautiful and full size box they went back to. On the surface (as happy as this made me) it really makes no sense as there is nothing at all to these kits and you basically get a near empty box where as your Mini is actually using the same size box and could easily make it more attractive to the buyer. The R91CP was rere'd once already and had one of those nasty abbreviated boxes too, solid blue with the smallest of decals on the front as if only by obligation was some picture put there at all. LOL Happy build then!! |

Cheers Jim, I was really tempted by the R91CP it’s a great looking car, but having bought the 50th anniversary Porsche and this Mini while also buying random vintage bits I had to say no. Plus I’m eyeing up the BMW M3 and the Ford Ranger ?????

Boxart boxes art poorest and poorest and prices no lower.... that remind me some of yankee ( and derived brands using the same chassis) during late 90's using the same boxe with a glued printed sheet of the mounted chassis with different bodies....... t2m did same method during the same period.
