I miss the nitro odor. The sound to. But too hard to use around me to avoid a shotgun trap from the neighbours. And hard to find fuel here in France.

Yeah I try not to run in crowded area.
Luckely the recreation spot is not crowded before the summer. Only 4 cars there today.
It used to be a camping ground back in the day, hence green fields and 2 roads to drive over.
Around where I live there is mostly woods and no real place to drive. There is a motorcross track, but I don`t like to run nitro vehicles on gravel/sand as they getting very gritty.

My LHS had only one option for a 2.5 litre can, Optifuel 16% RTR.
Before the EU rubbish there used to be a good selection from Optifuel, 20, 25, 25, RTR, with more oil, race fuel etc.

When I ran my gp rc, I used 10, 12 15% max same in my usa1 nc. Maybe 20 in last time. In high alps during holidays, we used the usa1  and the fg marder and the usa1  were the best ones. Picco 21pull start with the optioned carburator and 10 to 15% fuel. 1M silicon grease in the diffs . The marder beetle was very fun on more flat ground but too heavy for micro crawling

Looks like great minds think alike!    I just got a new $9 carb for my 3.3 Slayer. Took it out for a good boot and it ran flawlessly if not a bit too rich which I will remedy once temps stabilize.

I despise the stock look of this body so I ordered some decals from Nathaneal in 1/8 scale and just did up a quick drivers body. Gotta get creative for where and when to drive it but it shifts well and is loads of fun.
I would also like to upgrade the wheels and tires with something a bit larger to fill the wheel well a bit more if anyone has any experience.....

Had a blast driving my HPI Savage X 4.1 today.
Did 3 full tanks.
Before the run I changed the exhaust gasket for 105895 shaped gasket as the orginal purple one was in bits.
Midway I also changed to plug for OS #10 (Cold formerly known as A3).

Only thing happend was 2x body clips went missing and the left rear upper link popped out as the shaft holding the link at bulkhead glide out as the bumper stops had moved due to a rollover.
Popped the shaft in place and moved the bumper shaft stopper and it was good to go.

Video in video section soon...

The slow build 3 speed chassis build is now officially a roller.
I had to order some hardware and improvise a couple of bits to get the front axle hubs together as per the manual.
Getting those e clips on is not easy !!!
It’s a long weekend in the UK so hopefully tomorrow I can get the mechanism box sorted ??
It won’t be long until I have to decide on the body.

Today I woke up with tendonitis in my left wrist.
The pain is no fun.
As that is my main hand I won`t be able to do much for some days.

I do need to buy a electric screwdriver as I suspect this is caused to wrench on the heavy HPI Savage. Some screws are harder than others with handtools.

The slow build 3 speed moved on a bit further today. 3D printed caps on the ends of the axles ( they will get painted at some point ).
Mechanism box completed as per the instructions. The servo horns need tidying up. But everything is screwed in place, new well nuts used and new hardware.
This one is back up on the shelf for now. I can’t justify chucking anymore money at if for now.
I think the next step is a body and if I see a mechanism box lid come up for sale that would be great.
One final thing, at the minute I’m just adding on bits as I go, once it’s complete it will get a complete tear down and clean up before a final rebuild.
