I regret mine. But money needed and no space to expose it correctly.

Thanks Flo! Very happy and they are ultra light. Pretty happy with the tire too. This thing loves to drive on the road as well and this is kind of an all purpose tire.
Shocks were at the bottom of a parts box from a big Nissan King Cab buy. Kind of a bugger to get tires glued onto metal wheels.... |

Today I put together my Dyna Storm bits to see what I have.
There is quite a few vital parts missing, but my goal is to get this complete, stock or modified. And you might have seen this before if I put on the body... With the rarety of the parts for the gearbox (I only have the housing, inside gears and the outside stiffner plate), I might swap for something else. I know there is a 3D printed gearbox that fits Schumacher bits, and I guess it will cost 100 quid or more. Do have a complete RC10B4 transmission that needs a rebuild. Might make a adapter plate to fit that. A complete Stealth gearbox are 140 quid, so are Fan RC gearboxes. Missing top deck, I guess only options are Tamiya (long discontinued), Beserk or Fibre Lyte, last option is to make it myself (I do have fibreglass plates for this). The suspension bushings is other item missing, these are long discontinued as well. Let me know if there is a solution for this. I know I can use Madcap or aftermarket arms that don't use bushings. Bellcrank is also missing, I know Custom RC Parts make these. Driveshaft is missing, I belive DF03 can be used, CVD as well. Battery strap missing, easy to fabricate or Fibre Lyte makes these. Wing wire is easy to make out of 2mm piano wire. Wheels be JC Racing which are 2.2" so you can run modern tires. Turnbuckles are easy to make or put together from aftermarket parts. I will also run this. |

I've never seen one of these in person and not real familiar. What is different about the suspension bushings that makes them so rare?
Really cool that it will be run!!! |

Those bushes was only used on this model. And the holes are way bigger than the ORV gearbox sleeves as an example which has 4mm outer diameter.
Dyna Storm bushes are #9805816 and the suspension uses 16 of them. |

Sounds like similar situation as Super Astute....

At least Super Astute use 730 size bearings or rather bushings which is a size still available. I have whole box of those bearings brand new... Used my brain today... Today I think I found my gearbox solution for my Dyna Storm. Cheapest is a Injora copy of the Axial SCX10 transmission, these are complete and are very cheap on ebay. They look almost like a RC10 transmission. In fact the Injora and Axial gearbox uses same size diff as RC10B4, 52T 48P. And since the Axial type diff is locked there is really two alternatives. Either use Kyosho SC balldiff #UMW604 (out of stock anywhere) which are used on Dirt Master etc. Or use RC10B4 ball diff and I happen to have a complete transmission. B4 and B4.1 use SAE bearing outdrives, mine is the first one, but B4.2 uses metric bearings like the Axial, so all I need is #AE9852 metric outdrives. These is also sold out everywhere. Axial transmission uses 10x16 bearing and my SEA outdrives use 3/8 x 5/8 bearings (9.525 x 15.875), so for now I could use silvertape on outdrives and outside bearings to take up the slack between these two bearing sizes. I do have a unused Injora SCX10 transmission waiting for a fitting project, and I think this is it. Only downside it is belt driven instead of spur and pinion. Might be more quieter. At least |
