Had forever to arrange proper viewing equipment for this evenings solar eclipse, but left it until the very last minute to lash up a pinhole camera from evergreen tube and styrene sheet - di the maths and everything, 355mm focal length & 0.69mm aperture ... results were better than the photo suggests, but still very tiny.
Plan B was a colander & a sheet of styrene, almost impossible to coordinate tow other people to get correct focal length ... Plan C was just observe nature - gate is at the point of greatest occlusion here ETA - oops, posted in wrong place Attachments: |

Maiden run yesterday afternoon and it ran fine, stock motor, pinion and battery. May go up one or two teeth in pinion...
Put the wrong size steering servo adapter piece on (slightly too big) so under hard steering it jumped a few teeth but fixed that at home after running. Also ran my 1/5 scale 2 stroke. Started out fine, just breaking in slowly then it started to bog under acceleration but idled fine. Got worse and worse until it would just idle and would not take any throttle at all. Usually this is easy, just low and high speed screw adjustments but the manual stresses no carb adjustments until break in period is finished. Not sure what to do about it yet but I am dying to start tinkering with the mixture....... Any advise here would be appreciated.... Funny, I don't remember ever having to break in a weed whacker or chainsaw, not sure why this needs to be broken in. Maybe those are done at the factory????

On 1/5 , you just need to trim 1 screw 1/4 per 1/4. Is the carb clean? Air filter to? If all is clean, the matter is maybe that the engine is dead. The cylinder to much used. I had this problem on my kyosho gs11x. It started but on wheeles no torque nor power. And unpossible to trim it correctly. I replaced the cylinder set and the stingray was back.
