I'd been looking at that listing, it's quite interesting for someone who has, say, some spare rear wheels & radio gear |

Yeah, I recently laid hands on a 427 system including the AS-3, but sadly mine isn't boxed. I've seen a couple of 435 boxes & parts, but they fall outside my OCD Got flippin' Mk.IIs & IIIs coming out of my ears atm, I've managed to accrue 4 boxed Mk.II sets, plus probably 5+ more TXs, 2 sets boxed Mk.III & several loose TXs & various other bits. The target is one of each variant up to Mk.V boxed & complete (NIB is nice but not so important to me). Missing a Mk.I box & a 427 box, I think that's probably about it.

Good Acoms 427's are out there but they will cost you a MINIMUM of £250GBP.
I like actually prefer Futaba stuff.. I got this 2.4GHz for £90. Surface. Way more reliable than the old Fm and AM stuff..I love it. Also have a ripmax Air Skysport... I converted it to Surface...(A quick change of a spring inside is all that is needed to convert it .) Take no notice of my big foot there.. You saw noting...Alright |

I have a boxed 435 set
The box isn't particularly anything you'd want to display, but the TX and RX are pretty good, the manual is present & very good, there's a lot of unused servo horns, and there's a sealed rechargeable 4.8v NiCd ... there's no way it'll work any more & TBH I'd prefer the conventional 4xAA harness. Despite the "4 servos" label applied at a jaunty angle at the factory, only one AS-1 servo made it back to the box. I paid a whopping 32 GBP for the set. Theoretically it will go in my Acoms Cessna 172 if I ever get around to building it. Given the huge price dispartity, IDK if anyone has been tempted to use an (air only) 35mhz set instead of a land/air 27mhz (or land only 40mhz) (UK frequencies) in a 3-speed, I don't know to what extent it's policed, I don't think anyone is likely to be flying on 35mhz more ... The biggest problem I can see is if you took the truck to a formal car event where a peg board is in use & they won't have any for 35mhz ... |
