yeah was just daydreaming a little, with those prices ;)

we had a cnc lathe at school, that one would come in handy now. (that way back in time)
(used to make loads of stainless windsurfing parts on that baby)

I have asked around a bit trying to find somebody who is allowed to use such a thing on his job and is tamiya crazy too but no luck sofar.

biggest part will be labour time, would love to have access to a lathe myself but no such thing.

I can do the drawing but I'd need accurate dimensions to work to.
I can also create dxf files if they would be an easier starting point for the machine code conversion. (I'm assuming he wants unbroken profiles/polylines?).
Happy to help the hobbyist, but if someone's gonna get rich off my hard work, I would like something in return!

Eddrick/Kemmatech, I got the TF evo plates so I could put them in Librecad, so that would come out as a dxf. (its supposed to be raining elephants on sunday so should have some time left)
If you want them I can send you two the dxf files of the alloy mounts bits (and the chassis plates)

Yeah, if you can do a dxf of the mounts (AutoCAD 2000 dxf are most stable if you can - same goes for anything for conversion for CNC machinery) - I was gonna draw the bits up from your posted drawing, to save somewhere safe, but if you've got dxf available, that would be much easier!
I can't think of anyone around here that can do CNC chopping of carbon fibre, but the drawing might be handy in case I can think of another way. I certainly wouldn't want to do them at home, the material is far too cutter-hungry to do on the mill & end up with a saleable item.
At some point I'll be looking at brackets to mount the Dremel on the mill, so I can use high spindle speeds & diamond cutters for such jobs, but I suspect that could be a long time in the future!

Hi Guys.

I know I am new here but I could also help out with CAD drawings as long as I have accurate dimensions to work to. Only able to do 2D drawings.

If needed please just ask :-)

Cheers,
Aleks

that`s great do you have the dampers stays and battery stays? the sooner we do this the better we can get this rolling :)

Had an evening in the shed... I've made up some tooling to increase production speed of these little monkies then timed myself doing a set of 4x saddle pack posts as per Waterbok's pic (You're missing the dimension for the top bit, I guess 3.5mm from hole centre to top. Tapping depth is also missing, you got 15mm).
Flat out & not being particularly careful, they took from 8.30 to 10.30 = 2hrs.
IF I worked for minimum unskilled wage, that would make them 10 quid + material + lekky + consumables (& not including setup time or tool making), just to put things in perspective!

ok, that tooling resulted in some drooling, very nice. :y:
they realy look as if somebody forgot to put them in the TFevo box with the rest.

I cant quite see it on the picture but did you manage to get that small curve in to the bottom.
(stupid question, pretty sure you did  )

dimension for the top bit is there btw, its hidden in the drawing (5.4-3) ;) , so you got close enough

thought we discused the threading somewhere but 15 is spot on.

found it

M3 both ends will do on BM5, BM6 and J12 (15mm or so)
on BM1 it has to go through it has to fit a 25mm screw that comes from the bottom.
BM2 needs approx 5mm and SP1 10 or 15mm

BM4 just has a 3mm hole btw.

Cheers WB!
Yep, tool was ground to exactly match a wing mount Edou kindly sent me, so it should be fairly close to original Tamiya equipment. Couldn't see a 5.4 dimension on he drawing I've saved, just got a 3 from the step to hole centre & nothing beyond it or an O/A

I might have a look at J12 & some of the other bits on Sunday
