Aha, found it! (Just had a look back through the posts) snuck that in there didn't you!
Are there any other changes between the first & second drawing post? (Save me squinting...)

I just noticed the steering mounts on a Top Force and TF Evo aren't exactly the same.
While the normal Top Force part has a screw on either side, the one on the Evo has a single (long) screw going through...

so we got screwed :S

Always thought there was something wrong with those evo's, now we know.

but I would say the steering mounts themselves aint to blame, those are still identical.

Eddrick, just for that, updates on the drawings going missing inbetween posts, I made another thread.
This shows the latest versions on the mounts and plates.

Isn't there an opposite direction of the thread at the top of the bit then?
Don't know where I got that idea...

You're gonna wanna find some 3x25mm titanium countersunk phillips head titanium screws to replicate the Evo setup.
And that's quite a mouthful for a screw...

think when doing the DIY DF01 conversion, stainless or as Eddrick mentioned hardened alloy would be better and more value for money.

getting along slowly with the plates, all those curves and holes are real badgirl.

drawing of the plates is done except for putting some measurement in the drawing.

if the dxf is to be used for cutting it might have to be edited, closing shapes and such things, anybody has a link to that subject?

12'' $§&%§ for drawing CAD btw.

No can do myself. Got a severe case of titanium fetish. :silly:

Right, threads in steering posts go all the way through, so you can use long or short screws as you wish.

DXFs - yep, most CNC machines require profiles to be "closed" (Polylines is the word used in AutoCAD) so when cutting an outline or pocket, the machine knows to offset the cutter (Inside or outside the line) rather than cutting ON the line.
If you draw a closed shape (eg outline of your chassis), the line should be continuous, NOT made up of separate lines & circles joined together.
IF you feed a non-polyline profile to a CNC machine, the component outline will be undersized by the radius of the cutter, a pocket in the component will come out oversized by the radius of the cutter.
Of course, you could reprogram the machine manually to allow for cutter offset, but that's tedious & defies the object of drawing it in the first place.

Difficult to explain unless you've used CAD, but basically, if you draw lines & circles & join them up, then look at the "properties" of the final shape, you will only get a report on the individual line or arc (ie line length, starting & finishing co-ordinates etc)
If the shape is drawn as a "Polyline", the lines & circles cease to exist & the shape becomes a thing in its own right. If you look at the properties of a polyline, you get useful info such as profile length, area inside the profile etc, rather than just "This line starts here, finishes there & is that long"

Anyway, been out in the shed all afternoon, hacked my way through the rest of the metre of 10mm ally bar.
Did 2x J12, 8x damper mounts, 4x saddle pack mounts, 2x body mounts & 2x wing mounts. Just need to do 2x more wing mounts & I should have 2x complete sets of bits.
Some bits take longer than others, but for a complete full set it's averaging out to approx 15 minutes per component, 1.2m (10 quid's worth) of material for 2x full sets

I take it the Hank bushes & O-rings are going to be sourced elsewhere rather than supplied with the mount kits?

Had a quick look at the chassis plates & they defo need to be done on a CNC machine, they're far too complicated to do manually

Cool, so defo no problem there. Bits look great. :y:

Don't know where I got that idea...

It's thinking like a turnbuckle. :pinch:

Copycats! ;)

I think if someone wants to do a DF01 conversion it now is time to get your hands on some Jparts before they start to run out.
