Maybe you could even melt the part back together (gently) with a soldering iron... Don't think a gear diff would be the cause of the wheels turning differently. Would sooner be more drag on one side of the outer drivetrain (dogbones being forced under an angle or broken ball bearing in one of the wheel axles for example). A ball diff is cool but requires quite a bit of maintenance. You could try and put some thick grease in the (rear) gear diff first, that'll give it more straight line stability. Maybe have a look at the angle of front wheels too, and give them a bit of toe in... Edit - I just dust off with a brush after a run and do a partial rebuild now and then. Don't run 'em a lot though. |

Well I don't have a soldering iron. But the holes are a bit stretched too. I even noticed that the right screw has been bent!
Yes I will try to put more grease inside the diff when rebuilding. |

Thanks for the link. I only understand the basis of german so it go way beyond my capacity.

Ho! Also about the ball-diffs. The DF01 has no clutch. And what I saw about ball-diffs. It is possible to make them act like a clutch. So that is my idea too. Not sure though.

Even if you screw the diff together all the way, it will still somewhat act as a limited slip diff is much power is applied.
No such thing on a gear diff... I've been making variations in the diff tension but that takes more maintenance to check it didn't loosen after running. Tips and tricks on (re)building a ball diff Still needs to create the additional notes for that video... The official Tamiya way (on most of the descriptions) would be to tighten it completely. |

Very nice video.
At the moment I will keep the gear diffs. First I will try to buy some better tires to have better traction. Then I will see if it changes the behavior. |

If you stuff the rear gear diff with thick grease, that'll definitely have an impact on straight line stability too.
DF-01s can be very light on their feet with double cera-greased (or similar) gear diffs... To make sure there isn't something dragging the car on one side, manual checks to get a feel are always a good thing to do. |

At the moment I used a Facom lithium grease which is pretty thick. I will put even more in the rear diff.
