Today was the day to expand my Lego city.
First I cut down the 2100x500mm shelf plate so it would fit. Here testing with double road plates. Then it was just the matter of fitting the right road plates and place out the vehicles... Even as doubled the size of my city from 8 road plates to 16, the space is more or less full now. And I still have some vehicle of my want list. All my good road plates is now used bare some turns. I had to use 3 straight ones that has turned brown ish. These I need to bring back to orginal hue. For now this is how my city will sit. Next I will add yoga mats under the road plates so I can hide my magnet based light system I`m planning to do. The yoga matts will be hollowed to give space for wires etc. Beside the 6634 rally car and the red and white turbo prop plane, all the other vehicles and road plates has been collected the last 6 months. I have been using both norwegian auction FB site and online marketplace for this. Bargains can be had if you know what to look for I tend to buy the cheaper option if there is any. |

In my FB feed today I saw a post that was posted by Scania New Zeeland a few days ago.
This featured a 4 axle Scania truck with helipad on top of the tank unit. I had to build this in the classic 4 stud design. Since my my spares is a lot less than a whole truck I used the Bricklink Studio to make a digital render. Surprisingly easy to use as you don`t have to design/make the parts. Just pick the right partnumber, turn it the way you need and place it on the build surface or on the model. So here is my take on the helipad truck. I used design clues from the 6346 Shuttle Launching Crew truck, 6670 and others with similar design. Also built a crew cab with 4 studs instead of 5 as pr 6346. Tank unit is loosely based on the 6695 Shell Tanker. |

New render.
This time I used the 1742 SUV as the base, so the puller is more or less stock 1742. Behind there is a off-road trailer with articulate able suspension with help of wheelholder from 6660 etc. On top there is 6x6 SUV with winch up fron and roof rack front and rear of roof. I call this "6x6 Weekend Off-Road Adventurer"
