No matter on the color of the rims. It's not a rare classic town from the 70's or 80's. It's a rare home creation of the speed champion serie. And yours will be YOURS with leds (and maybe a sound.... 🤗😇😇😇)

Yesterday I got this mountain of Lego from two Bricklink seller.
This is ca 2000 parts. My biggest Lego project to date, both number of parts and size.
Still waiting on 4 more packages.

Edit: I found out the tires are of solid type, but wheels are for hollow type. So Dremel action is needed to remove the two grooves in the middle of the wheel. As these are not vintage parts I have no guilt of modify the parts...

I have back kink atm, which is not fun.
Today I had to see a chiropractor. A tad better, but not much.
Won`t build anything before I can sit for a few hours at least.

Today I starting to mod the wheels to take the solid tires.
Even with the two middle grooves on the wheel removed and the inner groove inside the tires removed, the tire would not sit right.
In the end I also removed the inner lip to make the tire sit flat.

Decided I did not like this solution so I ordered 18 hollow tires (same thread pattern and size) and the last 3 wheels in the same shop.
Another 10 euro for this build..

My back was much better today so I have started on the Auto Transport project.

Start of the chassis.
This designer has used loads more bricks than really needed. If it had similar chassis to the 359 Peterbilt I built, number of parts could have been reduced to half, or at least 2/3.
3x 1x1 plate on top of each other instead of 1x1 brick is unnecessary to name an example.

There are 379 steps in this build with 2070 invidual parts.

This is how far I got today.
Still waiting on 4 packages so there is some parts missing. Had to use a few alternative parts to get this far.

Designer have used a few wrong parts.
Like the downpipe from the turbo (90 degree elbow) fitted onto a 20482, which is a 1x1 round tile with holow bar. This bar to thin to connect to the elbow.
Instead I used a 1x1 round plate which is a normal stud and this fits perfectly.
There is also a 20482 on the floor. This is also doing nothing as it don`t connect with the elbow.
Designer also used 1x1 plate + 1x4 plate instead of 1x5 plate several places.
The 4095 6.6l bar (umbrella stand) is crazy expensive in any color. Also use a rare color. This could be replaced with 63965 which is cheap and plentyful even in the color needed.
Also the wheels dont fit the solid type tires. Tires should be replaced with 6578.Since this is designers second set which he as made available, I guess he have built it in the studio and not in real life as some solutions is possible digital, but not in real life.
Like the tires.

More parts came today so I could continue.

Nice interior. I`m missing the intended 1x2 tile as dashboard, but as cabin is closed with roof being on, it doesn`t matter.

Then the truck was finished

Changed the headlights from twin square to single on as early 359 Peterbilts.

This is long!! 32.5cm with trailer hitch.

My suspections that this has only been a digital version was confirmed today as it can`t be built as per manual.
First it bends in the middle because the chassis rails is only 2 plates thick. A pair of 2x6 / 2x8 plates would have sorted that.
The hydraulic sylinders is not possible to put together without mods. The rod is 3mm thick and the end link is 2.5-2.7mm. I ended up drilling the end link with 3mm drill bit.
Front cylinders can`t be attached to the 1x2 finger plate on front of the ramp, as the angle is greater than allowed. I had to turn the finger plate towards the front.
There is missing supports on the front ramp.
There is missing support between the ramps and the sleeper cabin roof. Missing 2 plate thick support.
Left sylinder mount to the floor behind the sleeper is different from side to side, even the cylinders are equal.
When you assemble the top of the backwall on the sleeper, there is 1 plate gap on each side. The filling part enter in the next step.
There is 2x 1x2x3 wall panels in the manual for the inside that is not used.
Several other parts is also ment to be used which is not used either.
The headlights fit in a angle when fitted as pr manual. Removing the 2x 1x1 glass and 1x2 plate with 1x1 round tile solves the problem.
Fuel tanks falls off very easy due only secured to chassis by 2 studs.
Front floor behind sleeper is not supported by chassis.

But, overal I`m with trhe looks of it.
I just need to buy more parts to make it more solid.

Finished the Auto Transport earlier this evening.

It`s looooong!! 88cm or 34.6 freedom units

As you can see the rear cylinders on the truck is a tad too long.
The front ones on the trailer is too short. This confirms to me that the builder only has built this as digital for now.
Found several issues. Trailer touch ground due sag, need to add 1x8 plates to see if that helps.
Truck also sag bend in the middle as the chassis is only 2 plates thick.
The ramp in fron of wheels on trailer would not tilt down as the hinge notches at first click has more bend than the ramp allows before it hit the floor. I fixed this by sanding down one end.
Also needed to move one support 1 stud forward to let it tilt all the way.
Need to order plates to fix the sylinder bracket issue on the foremost ramp over the cab.
Will redo the truck chassis by fitting Technic beams as it sag too much.

Still waiting on a few parts. Guess they will be here tomorrow or Friday. (Post delivery only 3 times this week)

Thanks Flo!

The rest of the evening was spent replacing the flimsy chassis in Bricklink Studio.
A lot is changed! Front grill area, side step mount, fuel tanks and area between steps and front axle.
Now features 5x 1x16 teTechnic beams.

Still some mods to do, but this was the major ones.

The modern variant of the umbrella stand that is 6l instead of 6.6l arrived today.
Now the cylinders has the right length imo. Might swap out the ones for the over cab ramp cylinders as well, but not a must...

And ofcourse I had to test with my Speed Champions cars as well

Rear upper deck seems too short, so I will add extra ramp with 8-10 studs long. That should fit one extra vehicle. 9 in total with the truck.

The new secondhand tires was sent today so they won`t arrive before next week.
Also thinking of ordering the parts to fix the problems while I have to wait for parts to arrive.
Then there will be a pause for a while regarding Lego.
