sorry to be a pain but i am completely bamboozled at the moment
i have fitted the pinion to the motor and fitted and tested it in the car. works fine.
i had to take the screws out the other hopper to fit the motor as a temporary measure until i get some new ones tomorrow.
what i cant understand is the 540 motor has 18 teeth while the 480 only has 10 teeth.
as the motor uses the same mounting screws so the pinion will be centred when fitted, how can one pinion be bigger than the other but both engage with the diff gear?
can some one offer me a simple explanation please?

I think the trick might be in the motor mount.
When using a 380 motor, this is where the screws go...
And the motor has an offset to the mount, putting it closer to the diff gear.

ahhhhhh so the screw holes in the motor itself are different spacing, like an eccentric mount to compensate for the different size pinions, i think i understand now ;)

i want to fit the hornet rear shock bottom mount adaptor thingies. they are screwed to the original bottom shock mounts but what do i use to mount the shocks to the adaptors, is it a ball joint or just a 3mm self tapper?
thanks

I was thinking ahead a bit and added 4 step tapping screws (#50582 - 3x14mm) to the parts I sent you. :cheer:
Those should do the trick...

Travelling time from the UK isn't always that predictable...
Might take a couple of days but usually about a week to 10 days.
Stuff from Japan sometimes only takes 3 days!
Altough at the moment it's a bit of a waiting game too..
I'm sure nothing will arrive before next Tuesday since the mailmen don't work on Mondays here anymore.

Aaaargh! Patience and Rc addiction don't match very well.
