they are indeed lunchbox uprights/axles, which are longer to enable the use of the hex adaptor on the wheels. they sit almost dead level now front and back but they will not work with the standard hopper wheels.
my parts arrived today Edou. |

certainly is.
the tops are smaller diameter than the others so that means less hacking off the body shell. |

Sorry, don't mean to bug you guys but i was looking at the picture again and was wondering you used the lunch box turn buckles and the rear axles? |

the rear axle is the same as a hopper. the front turn buckles are off a lunchbox

I used the normal Grasshopper steering blocks (turnbuckles?) on the picture at the top of the page...
With Super Hornet suspension arms and steering rods. For the rear I put on the adapters for the Frog (53913) to create a 12mmm hex wheel hub. But there are also generic parts available on eBay... The wheel set I used is normally for a DT-02 but fits with the adapters.

ok, stage 1 of todays jobs completed.
steering arms made, i only messed 1 of them up while practicing bending the end bits to fit to the servo. i got the two arms right first time after that and it works fine, may need a slight tweek on the ends to get the tracking right but there is plenty of adjustment so i am happy. also got the s/s dome nuts on the top suspension mounts. fitted with a tiny drop of thread lock so they dont come loose. looks much tidier i think. next after a bit of housework (just to keep the wife happy) and a nice bacon butty and a cup of tea i will start on sorting out the back end |
